Tournament Sections: OPEN = $ 100 – $75, Plus Trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place
Open Section U1500 (Class Prize) = $50, Plus 1st Place Trophy
U1200 = $50 – $25, plus Trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place
UNRATED = Trophy 1st Place, Medals for 2nd & 3rd Place
Trophies Awarded to Top PC Students = Trophies 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place
Tournament Rules and Other Information
  • You Must be 18+ years old to play in this Tournament – We're Sorry No Scholastic Sections - Venue Stipulations
  • Event venue sponsored by the Providence College Chess Club. PC students FREE Entry. Part of proceeds will go toward helping the Providence College Chess Club. Plenty of parking. Please use Campus Parking Garage. skittles rooms, lounge area, cafeteria
  • 1st-TIME YOUNG ADULT TOURNAMENT DISCOUNT = $35 entry Includes FREE USCF "Young Adult" Membership (Age 19-23) worth $27
  • ALL 1st-Time Entry Discounts: Must be New USCF Membership, No renewals. In advance, not on-site.
  • EF: $35 for OPEN Section / $30 for U1200 Section / $25 Unrated Section.
  • Advance entries must be received by 4/20/2024 @ 11:59 pm. Late Entry pays $5 more
  • New Policy: On-site entries must register 20 minutes before Round 1 or risk 1/2 point bye
  • Round 1 starts at 12:00 PM, Run continuous, 30 Min breal at 2:15 for Lunch, Byes requested in advance
  • Chess sets & clocks provided. Anyone can play in a higher section.

  • Remember that each player is responsible for bringing and setting up their clock. Please refer to the Metrowest Chess Club Digital Clock Guide for instructions on how to set digital clocks.
  • MACA does not recommend but allows US Chess approved electronic scorekeeping devices. Please note that some national tournaments held by US Chess ban electronic scorekeeping, so be sure to know how to keep score without aid of electronics.
