Registration Information
Entry Fee: THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR THIS TOURNAMENT. Online registration is required.
Registration - Onsite: On site check in for those who registered online is 9:30 AM to 9:45 AM. Those who do not check in by 9:45 AM may be withdrawn from the tournament.
Membership Requirement: USCF membership required in Open section and U700 section. USCF membership must be purchased or renewed by February 3, 2023, if you plan on playing in a rated section.

Tournament Rules and Other Information
  • Novice and Unrated sections may finish in the early afternoon around 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM. Open and U700 sections should end around 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM.
  • Sections may be combined or split at the discretion of the tournament director. This is a 4-round tournament but a small section may have to play 3.
  • Please bring a chess clock if you have one. Chess sets will be provided.
  • Online registration closes on February 3, 2023, or when we hit capacity for the venue (for this venue, that is 50 participants).

  • There is 3-hour street parking along the front and side of the building.
  • Library users may park in the lot behind the First Congregational Church on High Street, across from the side of the Library. Note: Use this lot in icy weather.
  • There is a municipal lot behind the library; the entrance is off Post Office Square.

  • MACA provides tournament listing for all as a service to the chess community. For question, comments, or dispute regarding events that are not organized by MACA, please contact the tournament organizer directly.
  • Remember that each player is responsible for bringing and setting up their clock. Please refer to the Metrowest Chess Club Digital Clock Guide for instructions on how to set digital clocks.
  • MACA does not recommend but allows US Chess approved electronic scorekeeping devices. Please note that some national tournaments held by US Chess ban electronic scorekeeping, so be sure to know how to keep score without aid of electronics.
