Larry Eldridge: Extensive experience teaching young people in group, semi-private, and private classes, and in running elementary and junior high school chess clubs. Adult lessons also available. Will help you develop an approach to improving your game while covering the essential concepts for opening, middle and endgame play.
Profile: Larry has been teaching and coaching for 18 years, starting with his son Ross, who was was a two-time Massachusetts elementary champion, finished third in the 1983 National Primary, tied for fourth in the 1985 National Elementary, and was frequently the top-rated player his age in the country. He has coached numerous other boys and girls to individual honors, including his daughter Robin, who placed 25th overall and won the Top Girl trophy at the 1988 National Primary Championships. He has also coached several state and district team champions in both the primary and elementary divisions.
