Membership Requirement: USCF Membership Required in Rated Sections. If No USCF. FREE USCF MEMBERSHIP for 1st TIME PLAYERS

Tournament Sections: U1200 Section - Trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place. Medals
U800 Section - Trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place. Medals
U500 Section Trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place. Medals
Tournament Rules and Other Information
  • Tournament is limited to 36 Players, please register early
  • On-Site Entry $5 more if space available and event is not "Sold Out"
  • FREE USCF $20 "Youth" MEMBERSHIP INCLUDED with $30 1st-Time ENTRY - TOURNAMENT (Not USCF Renewals)
  • Late Entries will receive 1/2 pt bye or be paired if possible
  • Round 1 will start at 11:00 AM, will run continuous. Most sections will finish around 1:30-2:30
  • There will be a short break for lunch after round 2 or 3 for anyone who wants to order food from PAPA Gino’s
  • Anyone can always play "up" in a higher rated or unrated section.
  • Chess Sets and clocks are provided for Chess Tournament
  • Volunteer/Unpaid Chief TD: Frank DelBonis, Certified USCF Associate National Tournament Director & TD Assistants
  • All profits are used to help local chess clubs and schools in R.I.

  • MACA provides tournament listing for all as a service to the chess community. For question, comments, or dispute regarding events that are not organized by MACA, please contact the tournament organizer directly.
  • Remember that each player is responsible for bringing and setting up their clock. Please refer to the Metrowest Chess Club Digital Clock Guide for instructions on how to set digital clocks.
  • MACA does not recommend but allows US Chess approved electronic scorekeeping devices. Please note that some national tournaments held by US Chess ban electronic scorekeeping, so be sure to know how to keep score without aid of electronics.
