Byes: Maximum two half-point byes available in rounds 1-4. 0-point bye available in round 5.
Prize Info: Chess book prizes to 1st-5th. "Chess Chat" DVD and chess magazine to each other participant., 1st prize winner receives a complete barbecued chicken dinner

Tournament Rules and Other Information
  • The Dana M. Sulin Memorial Chess Tournament at the Finnish Center at Saima Park
  • is part of the annual event known in Finnish as "Kesajuhla" (Summer Festival)
  • The tournament will be directed by longtime Wachusett Chess Club TD and
  • program director George Mirijanian, who is an "honorary Finn."
  • Ratings that will be used for players with USCF ratings will be their
  • official "regular" - not quick or blitz ratings - for the month of June in 2026.
  • The awarding of the Grand Prize of a barbecued chicken dinner will be decided
  • by a 5-minute playoff in case of a tie for 1st place
