Byes: 1/2 pt. Byes Requested in advance. If Bye Rd 1 = Round 2 starts at 1:00 PM for OPEN/U1600

U1600 = $400 – $250 – $100, Championship Trophies 1st, 2nd, 3rd

U800 = Championship Trophies 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place. Medals

Tournament Rules and Other Information
  • WWII Veteran LOU GIARRUSSO (May 11, 1923 – Sept. 9, 2024) a local RI WWII Veteran and chess player, passed away in 2024 We started this tournament to celebrate his 100th & 101 birthday’s. We continue the tradition to honor his legacy
  • $1800 + $400 Trophies = Biggest Prize Fund awarded at R.I. Rated event. $ Prizes b/50 paid entries from top 2 sections.
  • Open to Out-of-State Players. Plenty of parking. Beautiful College Campus. Extra skittles rooms, Lounge. Cafeteria. Voted as "Best chess venue site in New England,"
  • Food/drinks available on site. Lunch break around 11:30-1:00 PM. Cafeteria food stations w/ Lunch Specials, Salad, Burgers, Pasta, Deli Sandwiches, Soup, Pizza
  • Advance EF by Sunday 5/11. EF $10 more by 5/15. +$20 more 5/16-5/17 = day before & day of event. Late Entries may be paired or receive 1/2 pt Bye
  • GM's, IM's, FM's WGM's, WIM's FREE, Email Organizer. EF may be deducted from prizes.

  • Chess sets provided. Bring a clock if you have one. All round times posted on our website
