I am an international chess master, residing in Agawam, Massachusetts since 2007. I am available for lessons for chess students in advanced level of all ages. My ID is 12908267 and my US chess rating is 2565.
I started playing chess at the age of 6. At the age of 13, as a member of the legendary Azerbaijan Chess Team led by Garry Kasparov, 13th World Champion, I won bronze medals playing against such world chess stars as Anatoly Karpov, Viktor Korchnoi, Vasiliy Smyslov, and Lev Polugaevsky.
By 16, I had won five championships among juniors in Azerbaijan and held the title of vice-champion of the USSR twice. I am the Master of Sports of the USSR and a member of the national Azerbaijan team, first, among juniors, then among young adults, and, finally, ‘the big league’. I won the Cup of Azerbaijan twice. I participated in numerous national and international tournaments, which brought me many prizes and titles.
I am the vice –champion of 15 Maccabi Games in Jerusalem in 2001.
Since 1992, I started coaching young chess players in Azerbaijan and continued my work coaching young chess stars and teams of Czech Republic, Israel, and Russia.

Several Youth European and Youth World champions in the different age baskets achieved their results following the unique training program developed and taught by Mikhail Shur.
