MACA Chess FAQs:
How do I join MACA?

Joining MACA is easy, you can either join online (you will need a PayPal account) or, if you prefer, print out our Membership Form and send it in with a check. Details of MACA membership benefits and membership fee can be found at MACA Membership Info Page.

Where to play?

You can find local clubs' websites and online chess clubs on our Chess Related Links Page. You may also find information on the New England Club Directory on MetroWest Chess Club's website. 

How do I get to a playing site?

You can find driving direction for events listed on our Future Events tournament details page. You can get to the event details by selecting the event in three ways:

  1. From MACA homepage, select either the event already listed or click through the page number (above the Event Name column).
  2. Click on Future Events link and select the Whole List View.
  3. Mouseover the Future Events link and select the Calendar View.

Click on the event you want to play in, you'll see the embeded Google Map on the Event Details page. Click on the map will bring you to the Map site, you will be able to find driving directions there.

When are events going to take place?

Our Future Events page lists all the events that are submitted by tournament organizers.

Who is Playing?

Check out our members and their ratings here. You can also find the past Massachusetts State Champions, Mass State Scholastic Champions and Mass State Scholastic Team Champions on our site.

How do I contact MACA?

How do I find my rating?

You can find your rating on USCF's Member Services Area.

How to volunteer?

The fastest and easiest way to get involved is to contact the board of directors and let them know that you are interested in helping out in some way. You can contact the board through our Contact Us page.

I lost my membership card, how can I find my member number?

MACA uses your USCF ID as your MACA Member ID. You can find it online by click USCF's Player Search Page, type in your name, select your State and hit the "Find" button.

On the next page, you'll see your USCF (MACA) ID number.

 

What is the Chess for Early Educators?

MACA will offer schools interested in starting curricular chess programs for early education (K-3) with all the resources they need to do so as smoothly as possible without having to bring in dedicated chess teachers from outside the school. Learn More
